From the band's official MySpace:
Grand Army is a Massachusetts-based musical group that takes its name from the Grand Army of the Republic Highway, or U.S. Route 6, which runs through the southern coast of their native state. Comprised of collegiate-trained actors and musicians with strong backgrounds in writing and performing, their sound streams the emotion of avant-garde dance and new wave electronic rock. Fronted by Alicia Racine (lead vocals), the band also includes Jude Kingston (keyboard, electronics), Mike Jupin (bass guitar), Adam Colucci (drums, percussion) and Gregg Savage (electric guitar). Jupin and Colucci's machine-like rhythm section lay a brick foundation in total complement with the melodic intensity of Kingston's keyboards and Savage's guitar, all in support of the dynamic, beautiful and sometimes haunting vocals from Racine. Grand Army has brought their alternative vibe to venues throughout the Boston, Providence and New York area, and their first studio album is set for a winter 2009 release. This is tomorrow's music today. After one listen, you will be drafted. Enlist today with Grand Army!
